Response to Save Blood Ties on BloodTies-BloodLines Board

So far I haven't been able to log into the BT-BL formum this morning so that I could post. So I'm posting here instead.

I’ve been reading here and other sites this morning and have several thoughts.
There are so many good ideas flying around this and other sites. I agree that there needs to be some type of organization so that we focus our efforts.

Kevin – Thank you for reserving a domain name.
(I just put in the request to reserve...

The one year domain registration cost was $8.19 US. )

Having a centralized place to list on-going campaign efforts would be a big help. So many people are working on mailing postcards, sending emails, etc. If we organized and made sure that thousands of emails would hit a location the same day, it might make a bigger impact.

For instance, I don’t think we’ve heard a response back from the Ellen show. Maybe if we chose a date and bombarded the show with emails, it would help get us recognized. (Maybe this is something that we could try in conjunction with Moonlight and suggest a Vampire genre show. Tied in with blood drives, eye glass donation locations, etc., with a few central locations having media coverage shown on the show. It could be a big PR event for Blood Ties, ML and Ellen. (I can see one possible problem; Moonlight already has a blood drive in the works. So it would have to be a second blood drive for that show. Maybe not a bad idea since the current ML BD seems to be centered on the East Coast with much less coverage in the MW and WC.)

In a post from Christine (Part of our success is that from the beginning we worked very closely WITH the "Powers that Be" in order to cast the show, the network and Warner Bros in a positive light. We didn't want it to be "Us against Them”)

It seems that one of the main issues for the Save Blood Ties campaign is knowing specifically who are the Powers That Be. Having this information would increase our ability to focus our campaign in the most beneficial direction. That said, I’ll contact the production company again this week. About a month ago I received a personal response from the Executive Producer’s office, so perhaps they will be willing to share their take on getting that PTB question nailed down.

Does anyone here have media or network contacts? How about a background in marketing? How about time available to dedicate to being a part of organizing a cohesive campaign effort?
